siem reap: the kingdom of angkor wonder

our flight to siemreap was at 7am. lcct was still as crowded as ever.

bearbear at lcct.

looking at departure board as if they were going to fly the plane.

no red carpet walkway, or anything. what do you expect? we were flying on aa only ok!!

pama on tuk-tuk.

south gate as starting point to discover the great angkor park. but its three-day entrance pass costs usd40 each, expensive ba. the temples are simply awesome!!

hello kwai-lo(s). inside the angkor park.

i think this was taken at bayon. there are too many large and small temples inside the park which i seriously cant remember which is which.

i tried to capture the best view of bayon fr this angle. but, blame my camera...

large stone face of buddha at bayon.

showing off himself is capable to climb the staircase.

and he did.

猶抱琵琶半遮面 *face half-hidden behind the pi-pa, a chinese musical instrument*. there is no pi-pa here, instead im covering my face wiv the antique window. ok, i can be this poetic even though i dun hav pi-pa.

bearbear trying to hide himself behind the window as well.

another self-obsessed me.

the terrace of elephants.

february in siem reap was unbearably hot, and so i was lazy to walk around.

in the angkor wat.

angkor wat standing up gorgeously as the centerpiece of the park. see its five lotus bud-like towers?

now, two of them are gone. nah!!! fact is, angkor is an amazing piece of ancient architecture and art. the 4 side towers are actually perfectly symmetrical to each other. so walk to the sides to get a full view of all those 5 towers.

climbing up phnom bakheng/bakheng hill.

pama was reluctant to climb this temple. but they were then motivated by some korean tourists. kiasu.

making it to the top.

large crowd to see the sunset.

taking a rest.

steep like this!!

1st day of angkor heritage tour finished!! we were dead tired and sleepy!!
