bangkok: goodbye

on our last day in bkk before back to kl.

nice brekkie at hostel.

off to suvarnabhumi airport. bearbear was complaining abt taxi fares in msia. but still managed to capture this pic inside the cab.

i'd never hav to worry abt him getting bored, as long as i bring him a good book.

see, i told you.

and, thats what i got for having such an engineering geek bf. he'll read, read and read, and the last thing i do is, either to stare at him blankly, or close my eyes, sleep!!

bangkok: cultural tour

shopping in bkk is always a therapy- relaxing, soothing, and never seems to end. but damn, i was forced to stop this retail therapy for bearbear dragging me to a thai cultural tour, which he said it's a must and i shouldnt miss.

and so, we paid hundred bucks and hopped on the tour van. first destination was to floating market at downtown.

meet our tour guide, mr.1. im bad wiv names and faces. so i like his idea for addressing himself mr.1 and the driver, mr.2, so i dun hav to crack my head remembering or pronouncing their names.

kwai-lo(s) are everywhere in bkk.

on a long-tailed motorboat, sailing down the canal.

this man-made canal was built by a thai chinese businessman who then transformed it to floating market. and due to its rapidly growing demands fr the locals and foreigners, the market thus went bigger and bigger.

a typical thai village house on the canalside.

the thai king who earns love and respect fr his ppl.

congested traffic.

bearbear and me, taken by an omani couple who was on their sweet honeymoon, they gonna fly to msia next.

congested like this how to pass thru?

cool bearbear.

hello, old man, cheer up!!

breakfast at floating market.

sawadee ka.

this boat service was ridiculously expensive which we had no choice but to take a ride.

wood carving.

more of hand-carved sculptures.

going to buffet hall.

here we were at elephant show.

and hundreds of spectators.

sorry for these dumbos who were mercilessly tortured, just for the sake of this few-mins show.

nicely dressed elephants.

i never like crocodiles. but i love hermes crocodile birkin.

cultural show at rose garden.

this dumbo is fond of my bearbear. he must hav thought they are of the same species!!

wrestling as one of the thai's favourite sports.

nah, more of cultural show.

bangkok: a shopping heaven

my budget has never allowed me to stay in luxury hotels unless its for working purposes. so this time around, as usual, we stayed at HI hostel, an international network youth hostel which we found on the internet. i felt myself so ang-mo cuz those i met were all kwai-lo(s).

this hostel was highly recommended on the internet. homey, clean... affordable!! pardon me for the messy bed. i went guling-guling, then only remembered to take a pic of it.

bearbear to watch tv.

tadaa!!! this is the hostel we were staying at sukhumvit.

see no.25 at the back? the hostel is located at sukhumvit, street 25. the first thai language i learnt fr cab driver at the airport was, "pai sukhumvit soi ye sib haa" which means go to sukhumvit street 25.

walking to the nearest mrt/bts station.

bkk is well connected by public transport. it takes only a 5-min walk fr hostel to this station.

reaching chatuchak weekend market.

this is a shopping heaven and i was shopping like crazy.

its a long and big market. you can find everything here, fr clothing to gardening.

having lunch at this i-dunno-what mall.

going to siam paragon. nothing to buy cuz its like our klcc, which serves high end customers.

bearbear waiting for the train.

4-faced buddha is always packed wiv ppl.

at the 4-faced buddha.

the buddha is located beside this shopping mall which burberry and coach outlets were so tempting!! but tax reduction was not worth a purchase.

i did bra shopping at mbk. absolutely cheap for brands like wacoal.

bkk street food. i was using sign language to communicate wiv the thais and the dishes turned out like this~~~ tasted not bad anyway!!

goodnite, my bearbear said.
