bangkok: cultural tour
shopping in bkk is always a therapy- relaxing, soothing, and never seems to end. but damn, i was forced to stop this retail therapy for bearbear dragging me to a thai cultural tour, which he said it's a must and i shouldnt miss.
and so, we paid hundred bucks and hopped on the tour van. first destination was to floating market at downtown.
meet our tour guide, mr.1. im bad wiv names and faces. so i like his idea for addressing himself mr.1 and the driver, mr.2, so i dun hav to crack my head remembering or pronouncing their names.
this man-made canal was built by a thai chinese businessman who then transformed it to floating market. and due to its rapidly growing demands fr the locals and foreigners, the market thus went bigger and bigger.
bangkok: a shopping heaven
my budget has never allowed me to stay in luxury hotels unless its for working purposes. so this time around, as usual, we stayed at HI hostel, an international network youth hostel which we found on the internet. i felt myself so ang-mo cuz those i met were all kwai-lo(s).
this hostel was highly recommended on the internet. homey, clean... affordable!! pardon me for the messy bed. i went guling-guling, then only remembered to take a pic of it.
see no.25 at the back? the hostel is located at sukhumvit, street 25. the first thai language i learnt fr cab driver at the airport was, "pai sukhumvit soi ye sib haa" which means go to sukhumvit street 25.
the buddha is located beside this shopping mall which burberry and coach outlets were so tempting!! but tax reduction was not worth a purchase.
